Drupal - The Invdev Story

The history of Invdev is intricately intertwined with the evolution of Drupal, a powerful open-source content management system that has transformed the way websites are built and managed. Invdev’s remarkable journey in the Drupal ecosystem began in 2006 and has been marked by significant contributions, pivotal moments, and a commitment to excellence.

In 2007, the world of Drupal was a far cry from what it is today. Invdev took its first steps into the Drupal community by attending one of the inaugural DrupalCon events in Barcelona. At that time, the event was attended by just 430 enthusiasts, a huge contrast to the thousands who flock to DrupalCon today. It was here that Invdev’s dedication to Drupal began, setting the stage for the years to come.

In 2007, Invdev sponsored the first-ever Quality Assurance (QA) server for the Drupal Association. This pivotal contribution laid the groundwork for ensuring the quality and reliability of Drupal, a system that has since become a cornerstone for countless websites around the world.

Fast forward to 2009, at DrupalCon in Paris, where Inv Groups CEO, Fintan Galvin and senior Drupal architect and developer, John Morahan, played a pivotal role in convincing none other than Drupal’s founder, Dries Buytaert, and other senior Drupal leaders to incorporate RDFa into Drupal. This marked a significant step in the evolution of Drupal.
